Το Kingdom Hearts είναι παιχνίδι δημιουργημένο από την εταιρεία Square Enix και την Disney, επίσης δημιουργό της επιτυχημένης σειράς Final Fantasy. Είναι η ιστορία ενός νεαρού ήρωα, του Sora, ο οποίος, προσπαθώντας να σώσει το σύμπαν από τις φοβερές δυνάμεις του σκότους, ταξιδεύει σε διάφορους ονειρικούς κόσμους της διάσημης εταιρείας κινουμένων σχεδίων, όπως η χώρα του Ποτέ, η Ζούγκλα του Tarzan κ.α.

Η στορία αρχίζει με τον Sora και τους φίλους του, Riku και Kairi, να φτιάχνουν μια σχεδία για να φύγουν από το απομονωμένο νησί στο οποίο ζουν και να γνωρίσουν καινούριους κόσμους. Την νύχτα της αναχώρησής τους όμως, μια εφιαλτική καταιγίδα καταστρέφει την πατρίδα τους και ο Sora μεταφέρεται αναίσθητος σε μια καινούρια διάσταση. Εκεί γνωρίζει τους Donald και Goofy ( ναι, τους γνωστούς), απεσταλμένους του βασιλιά Mickey. Οι τρεις τους λοιπόν αρχίζουν μια αναζήτηση όχι μόνο για τους χαμένους φίλους του Sora, αλλά και για την πηγή του κακού, που δεν είναι άλλη από την κακιά μάγισσα της Ωραίας Κοιμωμένης, Μαγκούφα (Maleficent), η οποία συγκρότησε ένα Συμβούλιο αποτελούμενο από διάσημους "κακούς" (villains) των κλασσικών ταινιών κινουμένων σχεδίων της Walt Disney Pictures με βασικό σκοπό να βοηθήσει τις δυνάμεις του σκότους να κυριαρχήσουν στο σύμπαν.
Μέσα από το ταξίδι ο Sora αποκτά το όπλο του, ένα κλειδί με μαγικές ιδιότητες. Μετά από κάθε μάχη, ο Sora βρίσκει την κλειδαριά του κάθε κόσμου και τον κλειδώνει, έτσι ώστε να μην απορροφηθεί από το σκοτάδι, όπως το νησί του. Παράλληλα, ο Donald και ο Goofy προσπαθούν να φέρουν εις πέρας την δική τους αποστολή, να βρουν δηλαδή τον βασιλιά τους, που εξαφανίστηκε αφήνοντας μονάχα ένα γράμμα. Εννοείται, φυσικά, ότι όπουν πατούν ρωτούν και για την τύχη της Kairi και του Riku.
[Επεξεργασία] Οι κόσμοι
Στους κόσμους του Κingdom Hearts μπορεί να πάει κανείς χρησιμοποιώντας το Gummi Ship. Οι περισσότεροι από τους κόσμους βασίζονται σε κλασσικές ταινίες της Disney, με τα γεγονότα να εξελίσσονται ελαφρώς διαφοροποιημένα απ' ότι στο ομώνυμο κινούμενο σχέδιο.
Traverse Town: Είναι η πόλη στην οποία ξυπνάει ο Sora. Έχει δημιουργηθεί για το παιχνίδι, μιας και αυτή η πόλη αποτελεί καταφύγιο για τους πρόσφυγες των κατεστραμμένων κόσμων. Εκεί ζουν και βοηθούν τον Sora πολλοί ήρωες από την σειρά Final Fantasy, όπως η Aerith, ο Leon και η Yuffie. Στην πόλη αυτή ζουν επίσης ο Μάγος Merlin, η Φλώρα (Flora), η Δώρα (Fauna) και η Χιονούλα (Merryweather), οι τρεις καλές νεραϊδονονές της πριγκίπισσας Αυγής (Princess Aurora), κόρης του βασιλιά Στέφανου (King Stefan) και συζύγου του πρίγκιπα Φίλιππου (Prince Phillip), γιου του βασιλιά Ουμβέρτου (King Hubert), η οποία τσίμπησε το δάχτυλό της στην ρόκα μιας ανέμης και έπεσε σ' έναν βαθύ ύπνο ύστερα από την μοχθηρή κατάρα που της έριξε η μάγισσα Μαγκούφα την ημέρα της γέννησής της, για να εκδικηθεί τους γονείς της που δεν την προσκάλεσαν στην χαρμόσυνη γιορτή, καθώς και η καλή νεραϊδονονά της Σταχτοπούτας, η οποία μετατρέπει ορισμένους μαγικούς κρυστάλλους σε πνεύματα, τα οποία την ώρα της μάχης μπορεί να εμφανιστούν ύστερα από επίκληση (summon).
Wonderland: Η Χώρα των Θαυμάτων της Αλίκης, παρμένη από το ομώνυμο μυθιστόρημα του Λιούις Κάρολ. Ο Sora φτάνει εκεί την στιγμή που η Αλίκη δικάζεται, και παρόλο που φέρνει στοιχεία που αποδεικνύουν την αθωότητά της, εκείνη φυλακίζεται. Προσπαθώντας λοιπόν να την σώσουν, εξαφανίζεται μυστηριωδώς. Έτσι συνηδητοποιούν γιατί το Συμβούλιο των Κακών κάνει επιδρομές στους κόσμους: σκοπός τους είναι να βρουν τις Πριγκίπισσες της Καρδιάς, ν΄ανοίξουν την Τελευταία πόρτα, και να βυθίσουν τα πάντα στο σκοτάδι.
Deep Jungle: Η Ζούγκλα του Ταρζάν. Σκοτώνεται ο κακός Clayton (ο οποίος, υπόψιν, είναι μέρος του Συμβουλίου) και σώζονται οι γορίλες. Ο Sora, από κάποια υπονοούμενα του Tarzan, πίστευε ότι θα βρει εκεί τους φίλους του, γελιέται όμως.
Οlympus Coliseum: Το στάδιο στο οποίο προπονείται ο Ηρακλής και στο οποίο ο Sora θα προσπαθήσει να γίνει ήρωας. Ο Άδης (μέλος του Συμβουλίου και αυτός) θέλει να τον εξαφανίσει, οπότε μισθώνει τον Cloud (ήρωα του Final Fantasy 7) για να τον σκοτώσει. Κάθε φορά που ένας δύσκολος κόσμος κλειδώνεται, ξεκινάει ένας καινούριος διαγωνισμός. Στο τέλος, ο Sora αντιμετωπίζει τον Sephiroth.
Agrabah: Η χώρα του Αλαντίν και της Γιασμίν. Ο σατανικός βεζίρης Τζαφάρ (μέλος του Συμβουλίου των Κακών), μεταμορφωμένος σ' ένα τερατώδες κόκκινο τζίνι, προσπαθεί ν' απαγάγει την Γιασμίν γιατί είναι μια από τις Πριγκίπισσες της Καρδιάς που θέλει το Συμβούλιο.
Monstro: Η γιγαντιαία φάλαινα που κατάπιε τον Πινόκιο και τον Τζεπέτο. Πολεμώντας έναν κακό που έχει καταπιεί τον Pinocchio και μοιάζει με γλίτσα, ο Sora ανακαλύπτει ότι ο φίλος του, Rikku, τον πρόδωσε, προσχωρώντας στο στρατόπεδο της παντοδύναμης κακιάς Μαγκούφας.
Ηalloween Town: Η πόλη στην οποία διαδραματίζεται η ταινία του Τιμ Μπάρτον, Νightmare before Christmas. Η όλη πόλη είναι γενικά φρικιαστική, με εξαίρεση ίσως το σκυλάκι του βασικού ήρωα Jack, τον Zero. Στον κόσμο αυτόν ο Sora πολεμά τον Oogie - Boogie, ένα μέλος του Συμβουλίου αποτελούμενο από αλεύρι.
Αtlantica: Όπως δηλώνει και το όνομα, είναι ένας υποθαλάσσιος κόσμος, ο κόσμος της Ariel. Σε γενικές γραμμές, παρέχεται βοήθεια στον πατέρα της, τον μυθικό βασιλιά των Ωκεανών, Τρίτωνα, να ξαναπάρει πίσω την τρίαινά του, που την έκλεψε η Ariel για χάρη της Ούρσουλας (επίσης μέλος του Συμβουλίου). Η ιστορία είναι σχεδόν η ίδια με την ταινία, μόνο που απουσιάζει ο καλός πρίγκιπας Eric.
Neverland: Η χώρα του Ποτέ, η χώρα δηλαδή του Πίτερ Παν. Βασικά, αποτελείται μονάχα από τον Πύργο του Λονδίνου (Big Ben) και από το πειρατικό πλοίο του δαιμόνιου Κάπτεν Χουκ, τον οποίο πολεμάτε και στο τέλος (να μην αναφέρουμε καλύτερα ότι είναι μέλος του Συμβουλίου των Κακών).
Hollow Bastion: Το αρχηγείο των Κακών! Φτάνοντας εδώ, θα πρέπει να έχετε ξεκληρίσει το μισό Συμβούλιο, οπότε σας μένει ο αρχηγός, ο οποίος είναι... ο Rikku. Ή, μάλλον, είναι το σώμα του Rikku το οποίο έχει καταλάβει ο Ansem, άλλοτε μελετητής του Σκότους και τώρα υποχείριό του. Αφού λοιπόν o Sora καταφέρει (με την βοήθεια του Mickey, του Goofy, του Donald, του βασιλιά Τρίτωνα και των τριών καλών νεράϊδων) να νικήσει την διαβολική μάγισσα Μαγκούφα (η οποία ως γνωστόν μεταμορφώθηκε σ' έναν φοβερό μαύρο δράκο για να τον εξοντώσει) και τον προδότη Rikku ξαναβρίσκει την Kairi. Επιτέλους!
End of the world: Είναι ο τελευταίος κόσμος, η Τελική Μάχη, O Sora θα αντιμετωπίσει τον Ansem. Η Μάχη του καλού εναντια στο κακό.
[Επεξεργασία] Oι χαρακτήρες
Sora: Κεντρικός πρωταγωνιστής της ιστορίας. Είναι δεκατεσσάρων χρονών, και η πατρίδα του είναι τα Destiny Islands. Ο Sora αποκτά και αρχίζει να χρησιμοποιεί σαν όπλο το Keyblade, ένα όπλο με την μαγική ιδιότητα να κλειδώνει τους κόσμους και να τους απαλάσσει από τον κίνδυνο των σκοτεινών δυνάμεων. Ο Sora είναι ο εκλεκτός που θα νικήσει αυτές τις δυνάμεις, απ' ότι φαίνεται τουλάχιστον. Ψάχνει σε όλους τους κόσμους τους φίλους του, και ανακαλύπτει, κάποια στιγμή που χάνει το Keyblade (βασικά του το παίρνει ο Rikku), ότι το αληθινό φως βρίσκεται στην καρδιά, και ότι δεν νικιέται ποτέ. Χάρις σε αυτό το φως που ανακαλύπτει καταφέρνει και νικάει τον Ansem.
Goofy: Ο Αρχηγός της Φρουράς του Βασιλιά Mickey. Ακολουθεί τον φίλο του Donald σε αναζήτηση του βασιλιά του και γνωρίζεται με τον Sora στην Traverse Town. Σε αντίθεση πάντως με τις περισσότερες περιπέτειες του Mickey Mouse που πρωταγωνιστεί, στα οποία φαίνεται παντελώς ηλίθιος και εντελώς άχρηστος, στο παιχνίδι αυτό είναι πολύ πιο χρήσιμος από τον Donald, καθώς έχει πιο πολλή ζωή από αυτόν και τα χτυπήματά του είναι περισσότερο θανατηφόρα. Ο Goofy χρησιμοποιεί σαν όπλο μια ασπίδα, πράγμα που του εξασφαλίζει πολλούς πόντους άμυνας. Κατά την διάρκει του παιχνιδιού μπορεί να μάθει καινούριες, δυνατότερες επιθέσεις. Σε ορισμένες όμως μάχες είναι σχετικά αδύναμος, καθώς δεν μπορεί να εκτελέσει ξόρκια.
Donald: Ο Αρχιμάγος του Παλατιού του Βασιλιά Mickey. Μαζί με τον φίλο του Goofy προσπαθούν ν' αναζητήσουν ίχνη του βασιλιά τους και του κλειδιού του Sora, μέχρι που πέφτουν πάνω του (στην κυριολεξία) στην Traverse Town. Ο Donald μιλάει με την γνωστή παπίστικη φωνή του, οπότε πάλι καλά που υπάρχουν και υπότιτλοι. Ο Donald δεν έχει μεγάλη δύναμη, έτσι μπορεί να κάνει ζημιά μόνο με μάγια (αυτός μαθαίνει στον Sora το πρώτο του ξόρκι). Έχει γενικά μικρή ζωή και αρκετές φορές είναι καλό να τον αντικαταστήσουμε. Γενικά όμως, είναι καλό να τον χρησιμοποιούμε, καθώς κάθε φορά που ο Sora έχει πρόβλημα με την ζωή του, εκείνος κάνει ένα ξόρκι θεραπείας και την αποκαθιστά.
[Επεξεργασία] Το τραγούδι
Το soundtrack του παιχνιδιού, που ακούγεται στην αρχή και στους τίτλους του τέλους, ονομάζεται Simple and Clean και εκτελείται από την διάσημη στην Ιαπωνία τραγουδίστρια Utada Hikaru.

Kingdom Hearts trilogy

Καιρός είναι και σε αυτό το blog να εισέλθουμε στον τομέα του gaming, ένα τομέα ο οποίος χαρίζει διασκέδαση σε έναν πραγματικά τεράστιο αριθμό ανθρώπων εδώ και πολλά χρόνια. Αξίζει να αναφερθούμε λοιπόν σε μια απο τις σειρές παιχνιδιών οι οποίες αγαπήθηκαν απο πολλούς και μπορούν επάξια να κρατούν τον όρο του κλασσικού. Ο λόγος για το kingdom hearts, μια σείρα η οποία ανέμειξε χαρακτήρες manga με τους κλασσικούς ήρωες της disney και με ένα πάρα πολύ καλό σενάριο κατάφερε να δημιουργήσει μια αριστουργηματική τριλογία. Το kingdom hearts έχει έναν τεράστιο αριθμό οπαδών πράγμα που αποδεικνύει πως το gaming έχει αποκτήσει την θέση του μέσα στην καθημερινότητα μας, αφού σειρές η ακόμα και αυτοτελή παιχνίδια αποκτούν τέτοια απήχηση. Για αυτά και άλλα πολλά αξίζει ένα αφιέρωμα σε αυτήν την φανταστική σειρά και το χρονικό της δημιουργίας της.

Οι άντρες που κοιτούν επίμονα τις κατσίκες

Έτυχε να πάμε σινεμα με κάποιους φίλους και βρεθήκαμε σε ένα δίλλημα ως προς το τι ταινία θα δούμε μιας και για αυτήν που αρχικά θέλαμε δεν υπήρχαν δυστηχώς εισητήρια. Χωρίς να έχουμε κάποια άλλη επιλογή επιλέξαμε να δούμε το "οι άντρες που κοιτούν επίμονα τις κατσίκες" αν και ομολογουμένος είχαμε κάποιες επιφυλάξεις. Απο το πρώτο κιόλλας λεπτό της ταινίας οι όποια επιφύλαξη μας διαλύθηκε. Η ταινία αυτή είναι μια σκληρή σάτιρα πάνω στον σημερινό στρατό των ΗΠΑ και στο πόσο προσπάθεια γίνεται ώστε να καταφέρει να γίνει μια υπερδύναμη. Η ταινία με ιδιαίτερο χιούμορ και μερικούς εξαιρετικούς ηθοποιούς (Τζώρτζ Κλούνει, Κέβιν Σπέισι και Γιούαν Μακγκρέγκορ είναι μερικοί απο αυτούς) σατιρίζει τα κακώς κείμενα του στρατού, του αδικαιολόγητου πόλεμου και των ακραίων προσπαθειών απο τις κυβερνήσεις να δημιουργήσουν στρατούς από υπεράνθρωπους για να επικρατήσουν η μία στην άλλη. Η ιστορια έχει ως εξής : ένας δημοσιογράφος απογοητευμένος απο την ζωή του κυνηγάει το μεγάλο θέμα, ώσπου ανακαλύπτει έναν πρώην στρατιωτικό ο οποίος ισχυρίζεται οτι ήταν μέρος ενος ειδικά εκπαιδευμένου κλάδου του στρατού των ΗΠΑ με στρατιώτες οι οποίοι εκπαιδεύοταν για να αποκτήσουν υπερφυσικές δυνάμεις, όπως το να διαβάζουν τα μυαλά του αντιπάλου και να σκοτώνουν.......κατσίκες μόνο με το βλέμμα. Έτσι ο δημοσιογράφος αποφασίζει να γράψει για αύτο το θέμα και ακολουθεί αυτόν το στρατιώτη σε μια σειρά απο πραγματικα τρελές περιπέτειες μέσα στο Ιράκ. Η ταινία αυτή είναι μια καθαρόαιμη σάτιρα και είναι σίγουρο πως θα προσφέρει άφθονο γέλιο στους θεατές.

Μηχανές vs Άνθρωποι

Έτυχε να παρακολουθήσω το πρώτο μέρος της περιβόητης τριλογίας Μάτριξ η οποία διαπραγματευόταν ένα θέμα το οποίο δεν είναι διόλου τυχαίο για την εποχή μας: Την περιβόητη μάχη ανθρώπων και μηχανών και έτσι σκέφτηκα πως μια αναφορά σε αυτο το φαινόμενο ταινιών θα ήταν κατάλληλη σε αυτό το blog. Όπως και η τριλογία "Ο εξολοθρευτής" έτσι και εδώ παρουσιάζεται η εκδοχή πως οι μηχανές έπειτα απο μακροχρόνιο πόλεμο με την ανθρωπότητα καταφέρνουν να επικρατήσουν και να μας υποδουλώσουν. Όλο αυτό μπορεί να φαίνεται ένα απλό πρόσχημα για να εισαχθούν σε αυτές τις ταινίες τόνοι απο ειδικά εφέ και μάχες με σκοπό τον εντυπωσιασμό του θεατή άλλα οι σεναριογράφοι δεν είχαν μόνο αυτό κατα νού τους. Μέσα σε αυτές τις ταινίες παρουσιάζεται η τεράστια επιρροή της τεχνολογίας την σημερινή εποχή, μιας και εμφανίζεται λίγο πολύ σε όλους τους τομείς της καθημερινής μας ζωής. Είναι λογικό οπότε ένα πλήθος ανθρώπων να αναλογιστεί ποιες θα ήταν οι συνέπειες άμα οι μηχανές αποκτούσαν νοημοσύνη. Θα γινόντουσαν ακόμα ποιο χρήσιμες για τον άνθρωπο ή βλέποντας το μέγεθος της επιρροής τους σε εμάς θα χρησιμοποιούσαν αυτές τους τις ικανότητες για να μας υποδουλώσουν? Είναι φανερό πως η τεχνολογία είναι και θα παραμείνει απαραίτητη για τον άνθρωπο όμως καλό θα ήταν να αναλογιστούμε αν μας κάνει καλό όλη αυτή η εξάρτηση απο αυτή. Το ότι σε πολλές πτυχές της καθημερινότητας οι μηχανές έχουν ήδη επικρατήσει (π.χ. υπολογιστες) έιναι ήδη γνωστό όμως οι μελλοντικές συνέπειες αυτού του φαινομένου είναι κάτι που θα έπρεπε να μας απασχολεί.

O Κουέντιν Τζερόμ Ταραντίνο (Quentin Jerome Tarantino), γεννημένος στις 27 Μαρτίου του 1963 στο Νόξβιλ του Τενεσί, είναι Αμερικανός σκηνοθέτης, σεναριογράφος και ηθοποιός του κινηματογράφου. Έγινε γνωστός στην αρχή της δεκαετίας του '90 ως ο μοντέρνος δημιουργός που με τις μη γραμμικές ιστορίες του, αξιομνημόνευτους διαλόγους και ωμή βία, έφερε νέες ιδέες στα συνηθισμένα αρχέτυπα των αμερικανικών ταινιών. Είναι ένας από τους πιο διάσημος νέους σκηνοθέτες, που βρίσκονταν πίσω από την επανάσταση του ανεξάρτητου κινηματογράφου της δεκαετίας του '90, πασίγνωστος για την γρήγορη ομιλία του, τις γνώσεις του για όλες τις εξελίξεις στον χώρο του κινηματογράφου καθώς και για τις εγκυκλοπαιδικές του γνώσεις γύρω από τον κλασικό αλλά και πειραματικό κινηματογράφο. Μία από τις πιο γνωστές ταινίες του είναι το Pulp Fiction, με τους Τζον Τραβόλτα, Ούμα Θέρμαν, Χάρβεϊ Καϊτέλ, Σάμιουελ Λ. Τζάκσον, Μπρους Γουίλις, Τιμ Ροθ, Ροζάννα Αρκέτ και Κρίστοφερ Γουόκεν, το οποίο βραβεύτηκε με το Χρυσό Φοίνικα στο Φεστιβάλ των Καννών το 1994. Η ταινία πρότάθηκε για επτά Όσκαρ, εκ των οποίων κέρδισε το Όσκαρ καλύτερου σεναρίου.

In January of 1992, Reservoir Dogs (1992) appeared at the Sundance Film Festival, by first-time writer-director Quentin Tarantino. The film garnered critical acclaim and the director became a legend immediately. Two years later, he followed up Dogs success with Pulp Fiction (1994) which premiered at the Cannes film festival, winning the coveted Palme D'Or Award. At the 1995 Academy Awards, it was nominated for the best picture, best director and best original screenplay. Tarantino and writing partner Roger Avary came away with the award only for best original screenplay. In 1995, Tarantino directed one fourth of the anthology Four Rooms (1995) with friends and fellow auteurs Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez and Allison Anders. The film opened on December 25th in the United States to very weak reviews. The exploitation films were made in such an artless way with these big wide shots of Sunset Boulevard or of Arcadia or downtown L.A. or wherever. In mainstream films, especially in the 1980s, the Los Angeles you saw wasn't the real one; it was a character with this back-lot sort of atmosphere. They tried to luxuriate it. I think the opening chapter of Inglourious Basterds (2009) is one of the best things I've ever written - before that sequence my best piece of writing would be the Sicilian sequence in the True Romance (1993) script; that was the best thing I'd ever done in a beginning to end piece. And I think I finally matched it, or topped it with that sequence so I knew I couldn't just let it go. I would have been haunted by it and I wouldn't be able to move on to anything else until I had it out of the way.
CGI has fully ruined car crashes. Because how can you be impressed with them now? When you watch them in the '70s, it was real cars, real metal, real blasts. They're really doing it and risking their lives. But I knew CGI was gonna start taking over.
There's my realer-than-real movies like Reservoir Dogs (1992). And then there's my movie-movies. And Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) is definitely one of those. It's the movies that Jules and Vince (from Pulp Fiction (1994)) would go and see...I always thought of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) as my Apocalypse Now (1979) and that House Of Blue Leaves is my 'Ride Of The Valkyries' helicopter sequences.
When I first discovered Howard Hawks, I spent a year and a half reading the TV guide and they played about 80 percent of his entire oeuvre on Los Angeles TV. Brian De Palma, Martin Scorsese, Sergio Leone and Hawks were a huge influence on me.
